BABY'S FIRST FOURTH OF JULY!!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

You know that day you just have in your head that keeps you going when your like 9000lbs pregnant and sweating and swollen and sad and just want to give up? That day that you just have to think will be magical and your everything will come true? The day you know your going to love every year after?

Fourth of July was always that day for me. I was SO SURE that Jaxon was going to come on the 5th, or 6th of July. And I knew that the 4th, was my last real day to celebrate with my family before turning into a mom....but more than any of that, I wanted it to be 2012's Independence day so I could eat hot dogs, and swim, and eat some more and cuddle under blankets at night and watch the fireworks all with my Jaxon.

Mitchy is NOTORIOUS for having every job in the world that makes him work on the 4th. So I'm usually alone, with my family of course, but withtout my husband.

But this year? I have my favorite-st boy in all the land to hang out with all day long. To go on many epic adventures, and eat many foods that are bad for us, and have lots and lots of fun.

First up?
Carmel Parade.

I'm nervous, but I think he'll do just fine...

[i'm still crossing my fingers though]

and then naps

[again with the crossing of the fingers]

and then a fun filled day of swimming and BBQ-ing.
Which is both of our favorites.
This kid is a summer baby.
I'm not, but I'll adapt for him =)

but on a serious sort of note,
this is my second 4th of July without my cousin Matty who THIS YEAR is off in Afghanistan.
[last year, he was in basic]
the fireworks don't mean the same without him lighting them off and almost lighting something on fire.
I miss you lots Matty.
Thank you for protecting our country.

And thank you to all the other men and women in the Armed Forces, and our Veterans too.
You are what keeps our country awesome. And you deserve this day of honor as well as the birth of our kick butt country.

hope you're all having an awesome day.
Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY!!
