8 FREAKING MONTHS OLD!!

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

DEAR JAXON:

This last month of March was flipping crazy. You started crawling, and decided you could pull yourself up and walk. And can we just talk about how much it really freaked me out? I seriously got gray hairs over this...
But other than being really scared, I was extremely proud of you.

You decided you wanted something, you didn't let any obstacle-or mommy- stand in your way, and you learned a new thing. Other than me being the parent in this situation who has to raise you, that's a really cool thing to see so early in life. Determination. I'm so glad you have it.

You've also exploded into this awesome personality. A little clingy, alitte messy, but all adorably awesome. You know just when someone needs you to smile at them, or give them a wave. And your little smile, my son, will melt hearts forever. Just wait.  You also have the BEST humor I've ever seen in my life. It makes me proud to have spawned you, because I can pretend you got some of my funny-ness. Even though we both know that's really not true. It's all you little man, you are just that good.

You also learned how to do some really mundane to other people, but really cool things to me. Like turning on and off the lights? That is SOO helpful! Getting your own puffs out of the container? so cute! And opening and shutting the fridge for me when I'm holding you? You have no idea the time that saves me... and that day you shut me in the closet? CLASSIC!

I mean then there were the things I never wished you learned. Like hiding food in your mouth and choking on it. Uhm, that was scary. Or putting things in your mouth when you're looking right at me and smiling? Yeah, not as cute as you wished. Or this really weird fake cough you do now to get attention. Ugh. and well you know how i feel about this weird smile and the mouth moving like you're trying to talk.

You still may not have teeth, and you still are probably really underweight according to all the medical journals in the world. But dude man. You eat. I've seen you. You've gotten on an awesome schedule of eating every hour on the hour, and if you break that, you let me know.

I really enjoy knowing where I stand with you at all times. It's nice to always have a general idea of what you're thinking. I may not understand WHICH toy you want, but when you're jumping out of my arms and squealing, I mean I can sort of guess.

But seriously. I can not and will not think of anyone else I would rather spend my daytime with. You're basically the coolest, and watching you learn something new everyday is just the coolest thing I really could ever be doing in my life right now.

Oh and random tidbit to embarrass you about when you're old?
you've been playing with my bra's every day this week when I put you on the floor in my room. But you're too sneaky and quick for me to take a picture. but lemme tell you it's hilarious. And LOTS better than when you put smelly Daddy socks in your mouth.

ew.

And just yesterday you decided that it was time for you to say BABA about basically anything. Which is perfectly fine by me because you've learned the art of inflection early.

Ba BA? BA BA! babababa in a whisper BABABABA in a yell. it's all good my son. You're just one letter away from MAMA full time, instead of just meltdown modes. So if you could hurry that up it would be awesome.

I love you Jaxon Dwight.
You are only getting cooler every day.
I'm so stoked for what the next month will bring!
