I feel like there's just SOO much I want to tell you all of last year! Everything to me had a great story, everything had it's place in my heart [and now a place in my apartment] everything was just so magical and warm fuzzy feeling!
So lets talk about the coolest parts of the whole day shall we?? The ones that aren't silly stories and are just really nice to look at.
I'll break them down into 3 parts.
Part One:
There was ALOT of Candy.
And the candy? Was in apothecary jars [which are in my kitchen right now] and vases [which are scattered everywhere] and then there was candy corn mostly because you have to have candy corn at Halloween....personally I think it's gross...but that's something else entirely.
Everyone got little caldron's, and the kids attending got Chinese boxes, and everyone got to go crazy picking out what they wanted.
And my baby niece went a little over board running up and stealing stuff off the table, but that's sort of the idea of being a flower girl at your Uncle's wedding isn't it?
I however didn't get any of that candy, but I was MORE than happy to see that my idea was such a hit.
Part B:
The bridal bouquets? Were made of tulle, sparkly leaves I bought at Michael's, Christmas bulbs, and the best part in the whole wide world????
IT LIT UP!!!!
Yes.
We put Christmas lights in them, and they had a pack at the bottom that would let them light up when you push the button. Seriously.
The ONLY flaw in that awesome-ness was that the day ended up being really sunny in a room full of like 10000 windows, and you really couldn't see the lights at all. [usually Halloween time is so dark and scary feeling around Indiana in the afternoons in a forest, so I thought they would show a bit more.] But I mean come on, they were still basically the coolest thing I had ever seen in my life.
Lastly...but absolutely not least..
Part 3:
MY SHOES!!
You know how most people feel about their dresses? That they go looking in search of the one that fits them best, and they obsess and show everyone who can see, and they oo and ahhh over it every day of their lives from then on?
Well I liked my dress...
But I LOVED MY SHOES!!!
I had three pairs in all. I had a killer purple pair, which to this day I haven't worn out in public yet---I am for our 1st year celebration though FYI-- and I had some that were an ABSOLUTE back up plan because even though they were green and purple and had skulls on them and I did have a special place for them in my closet and heart....they were not my shoes.
And then one day when I was having a particularly sad day at school I came across these babies. So of course I bought them and cared for them as if they were the ticket of marriages, and low and behold, they were the most amazing part of my day...
